General Description

The Chief Finance Officer shall be responsible for the execution of best practice
Financial Management processes and maintain good relationships with local
and international financial institutions, government agencies and other key
stakeholders.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, helping to drive the company’s financial strategy.

• Lead the development and use of best-practice policies, procedures and tools that ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organisation with strong fiscal management, project management, cross team communications and workflow.

• Direct and coordinate all accounting/finance/treasury functions of the Company.

• Develop budget framework and oversee the implementation and the annual budgeting process.

• Develop and implement efficient finance and tax strategies.

• Provide timely accurate financial reports and information for management decision making.

• Manage cashflow and funding of the company.

• Safeguard all company’s assets.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Oversee and ensure that regular reports on financial activities of the
    company are produced and submitted to the MD/CEO on a monthly,
    quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Provide support to the EMC (Executive Management Committee) and
    the Board on effective business performance drive.
  •  Oversee and ensure monthly business performance report is sent to the
    Executive Management.
  • Monitor performance with tracking, establish corrective measures as
    needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting for
    earnings.

Regulatory/Statutory

  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures in day-to-day transaction processing.
  • Ensure that all statutory remittances e.g. PAYE, pensions etc. are made as at when due by law.
  •  Oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with all applicable Financial Accounting Standards.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by being abreast of existing and new legislation, enforcing compliance, and taking necessary action.
  • Conduct periodic formal appraisal of subordinates’ performances.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and other activities as assigned.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION 

  • Minimum Requirement: A Bachelors’ degree from a reputable university in any relevant discipline
  • Added Advantage: MBA or MSC in Financial Management

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Requirement: 10 – 15 years cognate experience
  • Added Advantage: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role at Management level

PROFESSIONAL (MEMBERSHIPS & CERTIFICATIONS)

  • Minimum Requirement: ICAN, ACCA
