Background
We are looking for a highly analytical, fast learning and dynamic Risk Analyst to join our team. You will be responsible for analysing data to identify enterprise risks, emerging fraud trends and developing strategies to mitigate these trends.
Working closely with other departments you will implement these strategies, using a combination of developed proprietary and industry tools. In addition, you will support the enhancement of the existing Risk Management framework of the company, engaging with stakeholders and offering support and guidance as needed.
The effectiveness and successful implementations of your recommendations will help to strengthen and safeguard the company’s financial performance, its business continuity as well as the safety and security of all its assets. Duties/Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments, collecting and analyzing documentation, statistics, reports, and Responsible for assessing metrics and monitoring procedures the organization has set to monitor transactional risks
- Utilize analytical techniques and statistical analysis to develop and optimize risk strategies to meet pre-defined goals
- Apply segmentation techniques using generic and custom risk scorecards and attributes to build credit risk strategies for underwriting, line assignment, and account management
- Ensure strategies are within the company’s Risk Appetite and satisfy pre-defined profitability benchmarks
- Responsible for integrating new data sources and solutions into risk strategies
- Perform tracking and reporting on strategy implementations and validating post implementation
- Proactively seek and recommend enhancements to processes and development
- Work with the relevant Heads of Departments to review and challenge the internal control framework
- Take the lead in the compilation and co-ordination of the Risk Register
- Advise Senior Staff members of the current Risks and advise on how to mitigate these within the business
- Consider the optimum approaches to creating a robust and agile Risk Management Framework which protects and helps deliver company strategy
- Provide both the Audit and Risk Committee and the Board with concise reports to enable effective decision making in relation to risk management
- Managing day to day investigations into sanction alerts
- Provide early risk management advice for any new or unusual patterns
- Ensure that all mandatory training is completed within required timescales
- Perform ad-hoc data analytics as required
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Hold at least a BSc in Finance or related field
- Additional professional qualification/certification in Risk Management is advantageous
- Underwriting experience is an added advantage
- 3yrs minimum of relevant experience in financial Risk Management
