We are Nigeria’s most trusted HMO since 2013.
Our Mission is to empower people across Nigeria to live healthier, fuller lives by providing access to quality healthcare services.
We are a subsidiary of the Heirs Holdings Group duly registered by the regulatory authority (NHIS) to operate as a national HMO in October 2012 but commenced operations in 2013.
Whether you’re an Individual, a Family, an Association or Corporate Organisation, our health plans have been created to give you access to quality healthcare services whenever you need it.
Once you are subscribed to our health plans and you fall ill, suffer an accident, or are diagnosed with a health condition, Avon HMO steps in to coordinate your care and pay the bills; ensuring and overseeing the delivery of quality healthcare services that will enable you to get better.
We also offer on-site health risk assessment, occupational health management and employee well-being services, which go a long way in maintaining a healthy and productive workforce.

Our Milestones
Some of our achievements since 2013
2013 - 2016
Launched operations as a National HMO in 2013 after being licensed in 2012. In 2014, We Introduced our corporate health plans and accelerated our digital transformation. In 2016, we became the first HMO in Nigeria to launch retail health plans for the mass market and enable online health plan purchases in Nigeria.
2017 - 2020
Got listed among Companies to Inspire Africa by the London Stock Exchange Group. Won the NHEA Healthcare Media Excellence Awards (Radio); ‘Best Company to Work in Africa’ (small corporate category) and Best Workplace for Millennial Generation at the Great Place to Work Awards.
2021 - 2024
Launched our mobile app (Avon Flex) and expanded our portfolio of local and international health plans to include critical illness plans. In 2023, we celebrated 10 years in the Nigerian Health Sector, impacting over 230,000 lives, through 2,500 hospitals across the world and paying over N24bn in claims. Won the "Best Health Insurance Plan in Nigeria" Award by UK-based Capital Finance International (CFI.co).
2025 - 2026
Launched Ava, our 24/7 AI Chatbot on WhatsApp to improve self-service capabilities. Also launched our 9-minute service promise while upgrading our mobile app with new features like real-time approval tracking, gym and wellness bookings, etc. In addition, we expanded our office locations in Northern Nigeria to include Jos, Plateau State and Yola, Adamawa State
