Job Summary 

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Officer to support the Legal Department in providing legal advisory services, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing contracts and policies, supporting company secretarial functions, and overseeing data protection and privacy compliance.

Key Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Manage the drafting, review, negotiation, and administration of contracts and legal agreements.
  • Develop, review, and update company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Support the management and protection of the Company’s intellectual property portfolio.
  • Provide company secretarial support, including statutory filings and corporate governance activities.
  • Coordinate litigation matters and liaise with external solicitors where required.
  • Prepare and publish legal and compliance newsletters.
  • Conduct legal research and provide legal opinions on corporate and commercial matters.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of data protection and privacy compliance initiatives.

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and qualification to practice law in Nigeria.
  • 2–3 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Strong working knowledge of the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and applicable regulations.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in data protection, privacy compliance, or a related area is an added advantage.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal agreements, particularly those involving data processing and privacy obligations.
  • Good understanding of corporate and commercial law.
